“In Christ Alone”

“In Christ Alone”

1 In Christ alone my hope is found.
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my all in all,
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

2 In Christ aloneโ€”who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross, as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev’ry sin on Him was laid.
Here in the death of Christ I live.

3 There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sinโ€™s curse has lost its grip on me.
For I am His and He is mineโ€”
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

4 No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the powโ€™r of Christ in me;
From lifeโ€™s first cry to final breath,
Jesus com-mands my destiny.
No powโ€™r of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the powโ€™r of Christ Iโ€™ll stand.

“Be Still My Soul”

“Be Still My Soul”

1 Be still, my soul; the Lord is on your side;
    Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to your God to order and provide;
    In evโ€™ry change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; your best, your heavโ€™nly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

2 Be still, my soul; your God will undertake
    To guide the future as He has the past.
Your hope, your confidence let nothing shake;
    All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul; the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.

3 Be still, my soul; though dearest friends depart
    And all is darkened in this vale of tears;
Then you will better know His love, His heart,
    Who comes to soothe your sorrows and your fears.
Be still, my soul; your Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.

4 Be still, my soul; the hour is hastโ€™ning on
    When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
    Sorrow forgot, loveโ€™s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul; when change and tears are past,
All safe and blessรจd we shall meet at last.

“He Will Hold Me Fast”

“He Will Hold Me Fast” by Ada Ruth Habershon, Matthew Merker

1 When I fear my faith will fail,
Christ will hold me fast;
When the tempter would prevail,
He will hold me fast.
I could never keep my hold
Through lifeโ€™s fearful path;
For my love is often cold;
He must hold me fast. Refrain

ref He will hold me fast,
He will hold me fast;
For my Savior loves me so,
He will hold me fast.

2 Those He saves are His delight,
Christ will hold me fast;
Precious in His holy sight,
He will hold me fast.
Heโ€™ll not let my soul be lost;
His promises shall last;
Bought by Him at such a cost,
He will hold me fast. Refrain

3 For my life He bled and died,
Christ will hold me fast;
Justice has been satisfied;
He will hold me fast.
Raised with Him to endless life,
He will hold me fast
Till our faith is turned to sight,
When He comes at last!
