Zion Day School News

The 2012- 2013 school year has begun and we are so excited! We have 25 returning families and 19 new families enrolled. Fifteen of these of these families are from Ft. Bliss (thirteen of whom are brand new to us). This is going to be a banner year for us and we know we can count on our family at Zion Lutheran Church to help us make the children and their families feel welcome.

Some of you may have noticed the colorful additions to the Auditorium. We have received the equipment for our new Block and Building Center, paid for with a grant from the Price’s Creameries “Give ‘Em Five” fund. This center is designed to help the children have fun while they work to acquire reading, writing, and reasoning skills. The fact that this center will be in use almost full time during the morning hours is a sign that Zion Day School is growing and gaining a reputation for excellence in Early Childhood Education within our community.

We were able to purchase new items for our playground using the $600 we raised through our Box Tops for Education fundraiser. Zion Lutheran Church was a huge part of this effort, so please continue to bring in your Box Tops and Price’s caps. Our goal for next year is to raise $750.00!

If you have any questions about what is happening in the Day School, please feel free to call or drop by the office. We thank you all for keeping the staff and children in your prayers. We know that your love and continued support of our school is a big part of the success of our program.
