I snapped this photo after the Spanish prayer hour today, and while setting up the shot, I wished that that the flower was pristine. It reminded me, however, of this passage from 2 Corinthians
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. “- 2 Corinthians 4:16-17
It reminded me that we are a people who rejoice in God’s promise of daily renewal and life-giving presence through Jesus and also a people who along with all of creation, “groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.” (Romans 8:23)
If you are ill, injured, broken-hearted, disappointed, frustrated, or hurt tonight, may the Lord comfort you with the promise that this will not be forever. Jesus has risen, and united to Him, we too shall arise!
God’s peace be yours.
