God’s Glory

A few weekends ago the planets “danced.” They didn’t, of course, do the jig or dance a cumbia but they did come close to each other in our view of them from Earth. This was called the “planetary dance.” Stretched across the solar system, each in its own orbit, they looked to us like a triangle of lights amid the reds, yellows, and oranges of our El Paso sunset. …so beyond us and yet part of our life, giving us beauty and functioning in the solar system on earth’s behalf in ways we are only just beginning to understand. Creation gives us ample reason to wonder and marvel at the God who made the heavens and the earth.

If the heavens declare the glory of God by physical radiation and reflection of light for all to see, how much more do Christian lives shine forth the grace of God as the Holy Spirit radiates faith and love in us. “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven (Mat 5:16),” said Jesus. May God’s gospel light shine in you and His mercy pour through you for the sake of others. Give voice to the hope that is within you, that all may be saved by the same Good News of salvation in Christ that lightens your life and directs your path. May Christ’s love kindle your love, may His sacrifice kindle your care, may His forgiveness for you kindle your forgiveness of others… and may all who see Christ’s light in you rejoice, listen, believe, and give Glory to God.

in Christ’s love, Pastor Stephen
